Essex Wedding Photography Do’s and Don’t’s

Essex wedding photographerTaking a wedding photography is exciting. You get to see the happiness of the groom and the bride. They cannot hold themselves from laughing, shying away and being all awkward yet happy. Taking those kinds of pictures that are prized by its owner so much does bring happiness to the photographers themselves. As an Essex wedding photographer, though, there are some things that you should keep in mind right from the start.

What you should DO

Learn. Obviously, to be good in anything, there’s no stopping in learning. As a beginner, you may want to find a photographer that you like and request to be his or her assistant. An expert is an expert for a reason so learn all the techniques you can and on the same time, develop your own style and preferences.

Unlimited creativity. Do not limit your photos with the reportage poses only. That’s just what every other photographer can offer. But, offer your creativity, your style, your only package that no other can do like you can.

Get an assistant. Once you start doing the photography job yourself, get yourself someone to back you up. It is always a good idea to have someone covering the rest of the party for you. You never knew if his or her creativity will bring you good luck.

Confirm schedule and time with the couple. Always do this. You will be taking pictures of people that will be stored and displayed for the rest of their lives. And to do that, you do not want any argument to arise during the happy occasion do you? That’ll scar the picture pretty bad.

Careful preparation. Always prepare carefully and always recheck your equipments will not hurt. Visit the venue before the day to get a glimpse of what kind of pictures you will be taking, how will you set your equipments and where will you be standing to take the pictures? This is really important as proper planning lessens the chances of mishaps.

What you should NOT DO

Foolish bravery. What I intend to explain with this term is how you enter the field of photography without learning about it firsthand. It is a dangerous ride without knowing what will happen and learning how you should steer. A bad result is just as equal as a bad reputation for an Essex wedding photographer, so learn until you know you are ready to set on yourself.

Don’t stick to poses too much. That person needs you to take photo of the whole wedding ceremony and every important moment, not fixed poses that they can get in studios. Let the party flow and always be ready to find a perfect moment that you know will strike the heart. Small stuffs like accessories, rings, cake, cards; anything can be an idea that you never planned, so always be open to opportunities.

Disturbing the holy occasion. By disturbing I mean weird postures you make while taking pictures, blocking the views of people, pulling the attention to you instead of the couples; most of it can be avoided by using the right equipment and camera. So, prevent from making yourself looking like an amateur.
